Ardbeg 15 (Sestante) 1973

Sample 12/12 of the May tasting set

Initial Nose: Musk, baking soda, lemons, limes, sea spray. chalk

Nosing after time: chalky notes dominate the nose with a hint of seaweed

Palate: Oysters, chalk, nuts,

Finish: Cream and hints of seashells

Rather than peaty/smoky, I find this a much more savoury dram. Interesting maritime notes in the palate and much more approachable for me. A massive contrast the the modern Ardbeg 10 that pushed me away from whisky at the start.
