Another epic journey of learning at The Swan Song (many thanks to Arun!) with an experience of a more elegant style of whisky. The Bowmore Birds! Strangely with epicness in the nose of fruit and "old style whisky" musk, there an element of slight champagne effervescent notes that is fitting to celebrate this epic dram and pre-Christmas drinks. I have to remind myself that this is a Bowmore as I find no notes of peat/dirtiness in the nose or palate. The fruits notes from the bourbon cask give amazing elegant notes to this dram. Once again im amazed how old "peaty" whiskys are so much more than expectation and break the mold of modern mold of the distillery for me.
Initial Nose: Mango skins, guava, chrysanthemum tea, muskiness, shoe polish, watermelon
