Braes of Glenlivet (Braeval) 15 (Signatory Vintage) 1979

Sample 10/12 of the May tasting set

Initial Nose: Sherry notes come forward, spices of nutmeg, cinnamon, damp earth, fruit notes of cherries, guava, purple grapes, red apples, varnish, leather... wow a lot going on

Nosing after time: Fruitiness becomes more prominent with mangosteens and earthiness goes to the background

Palate: Oil, guava, cherry wood, varnish, rambutans, mangosteens, nutmeg, red chilis, slight spices, really nice and complex

Finish: Long and slightly drying with peaches, raisins, mangosteens, rich violets texture that becomes creamy

Wow as a sherry lover this is an amazing dram. So many flavours and such wonderful sherry notes to appreciate. Complex and flavourful with fruits and earthy sherry notes that compliment. The violet notes are a wonderful touch. Overall delicious.
