Glen Mhor 28 (Rare Malts) 1976

Sample 2/12 of the May tasting set

Initial Nose: Butter, beeswax, floral, smoke, honey, maple, hay, almonds, kiwis, lime

Nosing after time: Butteriness remains but more light spice notes comes through. Less sweetness with slight citric notes that remain. Nose becomes more peppery with a hint of vanilla

Palate: Smoke, funk, beef jerky, salty, pepper, bitter spices, chewy dried wood, varnish

Finish: Drying, menthol, saltiness remains with dried coconut

Definitely prefer the nose to the palate. With the 51.9% the aggressive peaty flavours come through. Not a huge fan of the smoke/funk on the palate and wished more of the fruity and sweet notes came through in the palate.
